For every watch, First State Auctions provides a detailed written description, and a condition rating plus a range of high quality photographs, taken from multiple angles. Our photos are NEVER retouched in Photoshop. What you see, is what you get.
We are more than happy to answer questions about any of our watches by phone or email and our watches are also available for inspection at our Sydney office by appointment. As a quick reference and to allow our buyers to compare similar products, we also use a simple grading system.
WATCH GRADING SYSTEM
NEW IN BOX: Brand New. In pristine condition and never privately owned.
NOS (NEW OLD STOCK): Items may show signs of shop wear or handling, light scuffs, having been tried on, straps and bracelets having been done up and undone or wrapped around a watch holder or cushion.
MINT: Near perfect condition. Worn carefully perhaps a handful of times.
EXCELLENT: May show very light wear marks, scuffs or scratches. No major dents or scratches.
VERY GOOD: Minor wear marks or scratches are possible. Has been worn, but carefully. No major dents or scratches.
GOOD: Evidence of regular use and may carry small scuffs, dings and scratches but in very presentable condition.
AVERAGE: Showing clear signs of wear with obvious scuffs, scratches and dents.
POOR: Requiring restoration. May or may not be in working order.
