I first heard about First State Auctions about 8 years ago and went to my first auction at Killara Motor Inn. Not having been to one before, and nervous about purchasing jewellery under auction conditions, we were quickly put at our ease by the attentive and very knowledgeable staff on hand. It was certainly a treat to be able to try on unique items, and also to know that the quality of each item was guaranteed under the terms and conditions of First State Auctions. To my delight, that day we came away with a ruby and diamond ring. This lovely ring has since been followed at very regular intervals by a number of other rings  (including my engagement, wedding and eternity rings), numerous pairs of earrings, a watch, and the odd bangle and bracelet all from First State. I have been spreading the good word about First State Auctions since then and have also reassured other nervous first time buyers
